Meet Your Coaches
Courtney has been teaching group fitness classes for almost 10 years! She struggled with weight gain in college and discovered a love for group fitness during her quest to get healthy. Group fitness changed the way she viewed ‘working out’, and wanted to help others see that fitness can be something to look forward to! She is certified in Les Mills BodyPump, Les Mills GRIT, and is an AFAA Group Exercise Instructor.
Courtney Wente
Ashley is fitness instructor based in Columbus, OH. She is passionate about having an active lifestyle and participates in lifting and self defense training. She is a competitive blue belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu, and spends her free time rock climbing, reading, and playing with her daughter. Originally a musician and piano teacher, Ashley recently combined her passion for fitness and teaching. She now works as a group fitness instructor and coach for self defense and Brazilian Jiujistu. As of 2020, Ashley is pursuing a CSCS certification as well as a Black belt in Krav Maga. In her classes, she loves the opportunity to empower others through fitness to find their best life possible.

Ashley *kicked off* her group fitness career in 2013 by teaching dance-kickboxing and hitting the pavement as a Nike Run Club pacer in New York City parks (slow and sexy tempo, where you at?). She is an ACE-certified group fitness instructor and sports nutrition specialist. She's also a health journalist covering the wild world of wellness for brands like Health.com, Greatist, Healthline, and SHAPE. As an ex-athlete and avid racer she loves performance-based training and proving that exercise can be the best part of your day.
Jake has been working in the health/fitness industry for nearly a decade. As someone who was never the biggest or strongest in the weightroom growing up, he loves helping people who may be hesitant to start their strength training or exercise journey. Jake also works as Strength and Conditioning Coach at Hayes High School in Delaware OH. He is passionate about helping people get stronger, move better, and feel more confident in themselves. He currently holds his CSCS certification from the NSCA and is a certified group fitness instructor through AFAA. Whether new to Axon or a seasoned veteran, you can expect Jake to make you feel comfortable in class but challenged at the same time.
Jake Conklin
Born and raised in Hawaii, former high school football and track athlete, current fitness junkie. Cason is a certified personal trainer, National Trainer/Presenter for Les Mills, and has a BS in Exercise Science. Cason loves seeking challenges to push his limits. He's an avid Spartan Racer and wants to complete the 180+ mile Pelotonia Ride, a marathon, and a Triathlon. For almost a decade, Cason has been helping people of all levels reach their fitness potential through inclusive experiences that are energizing and fun!
